Finding the Missing Peace
Why do nations war? Why do churches split? Why do families break up? They’re missing peace. They don’t know where to find it.
When we look at the Bible, we see that “peace” refers to more than just the absence of civil disturbance or war or internal strife. It refers to being “complete” or “whole.” It’s mo
re than making peace with the neighbor who wants to sue you, or peace with the country that wants to attack you or even peace with your internal worry. Biblical peace is being whole.
We live in a world of people who are broken-emotionally and spiritually. We need to be made whole.
And that wholeness, that peace comes only through Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:1 ” … we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Colossians 1:20 “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross…”
So Christ is the source of our peace with God.
But what’s interesting is that when we make peace with God, the natural result is making peace with others too.
