Living Hope for Those Living in Depression
Depression is real-even for Christians. And let me start out by reminding us that…
All Christians struggle spiritually.
It’s not just weak Christians. Or baby Christians who struggle spiritually.
It’s not just single Christians who struggle with temptations, who struggle spiritually. Christians with families struggle-in fact, for every kid you have, you have a new reason to struggle spiritually.
Sometimes new Christians come to church and see how everyone is cleaned up and dressed up and looks so perfect. You usually don’t see people getting drunk or high in church. At some churches people get high on the Holy Ghost or drunk with the Spirit. But we don’t see a whole lot of that around here.
And so for new Christians, it’s easy to think, “Wow, I must be the only one who struggles with sin. I must be the only one who’s really fighting this addiction. I’m the only one who struggles spiritually.”
