Strength to Handle Anything

For countless ages, all peoples have had special ceremonies to mark their New Year. The Roman New Year’s Day was sacred to Janus, the god with two faces, which looked before and after. The New Year is still a time when we not only look ahead to the future, but look back with rejoicing or regret to the past year.

I hope you will make today a time of serious reflection, meditation and prayer—a day of setting goals of how to better serve our great Savior in the New Year, if God gives you life and our Lord tarries His coming. I hope you will begin the New Year with gratitude and commitment to the King of Kings.
